Canto/Mando ElectroThis project, also my final project of my master program in Berklee College of Music, blends Cantopop&Mandopop in the golden era of 1970s - 2000s with modern electronic genres production such as disco, funky house, techno, etc. It aims to brings the nostalgic sound from my culture I grew up in to a new context in which all human beings can dance to.

Instrumental Beats-making from Cantopop/Mandopop SamplesPlease click on each soundwaves to listen.
This project features beat-making with sampling Chinese pop music in the 1970s - 1990s. Each track contains multiple musical ideas which uses hand-picked samples from one song per track. This idea is to explore as many possibilities and techniques of samplings a producer can reach.

Social MediaI also create my own contents to promote my musics and beats.
Working as a scientist as my day job, I want to push the boundaries of creativities and to be an inspiration for people who also work hard to chase their dreams.
As the idea of making beats in workspace came across, I did plannings for all the details I need for my visuals and executed the actions to film, make music, edit, and manage social media account.

Live Production & DJAs a method of self-promotion and socializing, I hosted events and parties, and provided musical performances for local studios and organizations in San Francisco with a focus on international Chinese community, where I curated and remixed songs and sounds that Chinese Millianials grew up listening to (1900s to 2010s Chinese pop culture).
